Customize This!
It’s about three weeks after Pod Camp Pittsburgh 3, and I am just now placing my order for Moo MiniCards. I love these little cards, first brought to my attention by Jennie. They are the perfect size: large enough to say “blogging is important to me, this is who I am” but affordable enough to say “OK, so I activated my Google AdSense account, now what do I do?”.
Moo.com makes the card design so easy – upload your own photos, type up your text, you’re done. I’ve been browsing their site for the past THREE hours thinking about how many ways I customize their cool print products. Oo! I can do Christmas cards! Oo! I could do gift tags. Oo! I can send gift certificates! Oo! They have minicard holders! My $20 order was quickly turning into a $120.
I needed to set the mouse down and walk away from the computer, but instead I checked my inbox. Big mistake.
A friend of mine sent me a link to Zazzle.com, a “we customize anything” site. And they do. They do shoes. They do ties. They do skateboards. They even do customizable minicards, but they are significantly more expensive than Moo.
This is not a site I need to see this early in the holiday season. I’m seriously thinking customized calendars for every…single…relative I have. I’m pretty sure I can do calendars with iPhoto for $19.99. But it’s $20.95 at Zazzle and they have a 40% off coupon right now. So there you go.
Somebody restrain me and take away my credit card. Please.
